Posti to participate in Hanken’s Partnership Program – accelerating innovations

6/13/2024

Hanken School of Economics is a leading internationally accredited Finnish university, being one of the oldest business schools in the Nordic countries, with over 110 years of experience in education and research in economics and business administration. Hanken is among the one percent of all business schools worldwide to hold the three most prestigious international accreditations: EQUIS, AACSB, and AMBA. Hanken's partnership program connects the academic world, research, and students with the experience of companies.

Posti has started cooperation with Hanken's Business Lab incubator as part of the partnership program. Cooperation accelerates Posti’s systematic innovation activity and helps to build new business opportunities and foster growth.

Oskari Tinkanen, VP for innovation and venturing, says that Posti has a similar internal venture-building program as the Hanken Business Lab . Still, through the partner program, Posti hopes to bring together new teams working on current topics. Tinkanen mentions sustainable logistics, automation, and digitalization in delivery and fulfillment, e-commerce and omnichannel value chains, and transition to circular economy as central ways to create future value.

“Last year, we revamped our innovation model. With the aid of a systematic process, we aim to regularly identify future business opportunities that fulfill specific customer needs and drive real growth for us.”

“We are looking forward to accessing the brilliant minds outside of the Posti Group. Furthermore, we see this cooperation as a possibility for talent attraction and a growth opportunity for people at Posti.”

Magret Jokela, program lead for Hanken Business Lab’s pre-incubator programme the Playground, is looking forward to the collaboration. She believes it’s beneficial that Posti has already identified the themes they want to focus on.

“Hanken Business Lab and its pre-incubation program hosts a diverse range of individuals from budding entrepreneurs and newly established companies seeking to test, validate or refine their ideas. The program has also identified a growing number of participants who possess a strong entrepreneurial spirit but haven't yet settled on a specific business idea. This collaborative environment allows for a ‘best of both worlds’ scenario, where participants can leverage real-world challenges and themes established through corporate partnerships.”
