Posti plans to make minor changes to mail delivery in Espoo from April. We are developing our delivery by delivering increasingly more mail in the morning in addition to the morning newspaper.
Alternate-day delivery will continue to be the main delivery method in the area. However, increasingly more publications and letters will be delivered to recipients in connection with the early-morning delivery of newspapers.
Most newspapers are delivered as before, i.e. on the day they are published. This applies to the main newspaper in the area, for example. However, there may be some changes to the delivery times of some publications.
Most magazines will be delivered on the same days of the week as before.
The majority of parcels are delivered as usual to parcel lockers and service points. We deliver small parcels with day mail to mail slots and boxes or to your doorstep.
The delivery of stamped letters and cards is part of the universal service of mail delivery. The stamped items are delivered in accordance with the Postal Act, and the delivery time in Finland is usually four weekdays.
Actual delivery days can be checked online
In alternate-day delivery, the actual delivery days of day mail vary weekly. According to plans, their weekly rhythm will change slightly in April. The change is hardly noticeable to the recipients, as early-morning delivery supplements the delivery of day mail, which means that mail can also be delivered on intervening days. The actual up-to-date delivery days in your area can be checked by postal code at posti.fi/deliverydays.
Posti will distribute a notification on these topics to households and businesses in the area in March 2025.
The volume of printed mail continues to fall – we are developing our services to meet our customers’ needs
The decrease in the volume of printed mail is a change affecting society as a whole. We are developing our services accordingly. Alternate-day delivery is already in use in several regions in Finland, and similar delivery models are also applied in other Nordic countries. This will enable us to continue to offer traditional delivery services alongside digital ones and to serve our customers flexibly.
