Secondhand September – Making circular economy more attractive

When we choose a used product instead of a new one, we save emissions from manufacturing new. Posti wants to promote sustainable growth within the limits of one planet by promoting a clean transition in logistics.

To make the choice of second-hand more attractive, we organized the Secondhand campaign for the second year in a row in 2024 together with Tori, DNA Vaihtokapula, Kalevala Keke, Gugguu, Papu, Marimekko Preloved, Luhta, Huuto.net, Plick, Emmy Clothing, and Fonum. 

The purpose of the campaign was to inspire people to consume more sustainably and build their own style through second-hand fashion. In Finland, the growth of the secondhand market, worth approximately one billion euros (Finnish Commerce Federation 2023), is accelerated by the e-commerce of the sector. The number of secondhand treasures passed through Posti has increased about fivefold in a year, and the pace does not seem to be slowing down.
