Posti to deliver parcels and consumer freight also on Saturdays – deliveries cover over half of population

10/23/2024

Posti will start Finland’s most extensive Saturday deliveries for parcels and consumer freight. Saturday deliveries will strengthen e-commerce growth and respond to customer needs regarding delivery speed. Starting on October 26, your parcel may arrive on Saturday to the most popular pickup points and as home delivery to the most used postal code areas.

Going forward, Posti will deliver on Saturdays permanently, not just during the Christmas season. The Saturday deliveries will cover over half of the Finnish population.

“E-commerce popularity is growing, and customers expect deliveries to be smooth and fast. Speed is particularly important for many online shoppers. You can now receive your Posti parcel even faster than before as we will deliver parcels to popular locations on Saturdays, as well. The weekend is a good time to receive the parcel for many of our customers, as they are on the go and visiting stores,” says Kaj Kulp who oversees Posti’s e-commerce services.

Parcel delivery development is guided by customer needs

We are constantly developing our parcel deliveries to make sure customers are satisfied and online shopping is as easy and convenient as possible. For example, we have updated our OmaPosti app to make it easer to use and more informative and have implemented pickup codes that allow recipients to get their parcel without showing proof of identification.

“We want to deliver parcels on our customers’ terms now and in the future. With Saturday deliveries, we want to enhance delivery speed and customer satisfaction. You can pick up your parcel when it suits you, and with the help of our extensive service point network, have it delivered along your daily routes. Shopping online needs to be smooth and pleasant, and deliveries play an important role in making that happen,” Kaj Kulp says.
