Posti Becomes a Partner of the Finnish Ice Hockey Association

9/9/2024

Posti x Leijonat

Posti and the Finnish Ice Hockey Association have signed a cooperation agreement that will extend until the end of the 2025–2026 season. The partnership includes not only traditional visibility aspects but also designates Posti as the logistics partner for the Leijonat Store, the league’s official fan merchandise store. Posti will handle the delivery of Leijonat products to customers’ requested addresses.

“Posti’s roots are deeply embedded in Finnish culture, and we are excited to begin this collaboration with the governing body of Finland’s most popular sport. A large portion of hockey fans are children and young people, and the Finnish Ice Hockey Association is one of the largest youth organizations in Finland. Supporting youth initiatives is an important part of Posti’s partnership work,” said Anna Storm, Posti’s VP of Sustainability and Stakeholder Relations.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Posti as a new partner and member of the Leijonat family. Our primary focus is tackling the future challenges of engaging children and youth in physical activity. Beyond this, the partnership also offers business benefits, as Leijonat Store’s logistics are now managed by Posti,” said Lassi Rönkkönen, Sales and Marketing Director of the Finnish Ice Hockey Association.

The Finnish Ice Hockey Association is one of the largest sports organizations in Finland, with around 70,000 registered players and approximately 200,000 active participants. The Association is also a major youth organization, with most of its participants being children and young people. High standards are applied to its operations, and its core mission is to keep Finland active both on and off the ice. The Association strives to grow the hockey community inclusively, guided by values such as respect, community spirit, fun, and the pursuit of excellence.
